With its worldwide manufacturing plants said to be working under full load, SolarWorld has reported module shipments of 237MW in the second quarter, with revenue reaching €382.8 million. Shipments were up 90% compared to the same period a year ago and revenue by 68.6%, SolarWorld reported.
Group-wide shipments increased by 58% to 377MW in the first half of 2010 compared to the same period a year ago. Revenue grew by 50.8% from €403.4 million in the first half of 2009 to €608.4 million in the first half of 2010.
In the first quarter of 2010, SolarWorld had reported shipments of 139MW and revenue of €225.6 million.
Key markets such as Germany, which topped 3GW of installations in the first half of this year, were believed to be a key driver for shipment and revenue growth over the first quarter.
