Approved by Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China under Ref. No. (2008) 0527, SNEC 3rd (2009) International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference & Exhibition (SNEC (2009) PV Power Expo) will be held from May 5 to May 8, 2009 at Shanghai International Convention Center (No. 2727 Riverside Avenue, Pudong District, Shanghai, China) and Shanghai New International Expo Center (No. 2345 Longyang Road, Pudong District, Shanghai, China). This event is hosted by Shanghai New Energy Industry Association (SNEIA) and co-organized by European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), New Energy Industry Association for Asia and the Pacific (NEIAAP), Chinese Renewable Energy Society (CRES), Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA), American Council On Renewable Energy(ACORE), Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association (JPEA), German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar), Delegation of German Industry & Commerce Shanghai/econet china, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH, Taiwan Photovoltaic Industry Association (TPVIA), International Photovoltaic Equipment Association (IPVEA), Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economics (SFIE) and Shanghai Science Technology Development & Exchange Center.
With a great honor, SNEC(2009) PV Power Expo would invite Mr. Yiren Jiang, Member of the Standing Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Chairman of the Presidium of China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE) and President of Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economics (SFIE), Mr. Dinghuan Shi, Counselor of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and Chief Director of Chinese Renewable Energy Society (CRES), Mr. Michael Eckhart, President of American Council On Renewable Energy(ACORE), and Dr. Murray Cameron, Vice President of European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), to act as Chairmen; invite Prof. Martin Green, the 2002 Alternative Nobel Prize laureate and Executive Research Director of the ARC Photovoltaics Centre of Excellence at the University of New South Wales in Australia, Dr. Winfried Hoffmann, Vice President of European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), Prof. Takashi Tomita, Vice Chairman of Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association (JPEA), and Prof. Yuwen Zhao, Deputy Director of CRES and Director of the PV Professional Committee of CRES, to be Chairmen of Academic Committee; invite Mr. Junfeng Li, Deputy Director of CRES and Secretary General of Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA), and Mr. Zhengrong Shi, Vice Chairman of Shanghai New Energy Industry Association (SNEIA) and Chairman & CEO of Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd., to be Executive Chairmen. We have also invited representatives from EPIA, BSW-Solar, ACORE, SEIA, etc. to join the presidium, attend the opening ceremony and deliver important speeches.
With the theme of “Develop New Energy, Benefit All Mankind”, SNEC (2009) PV Power Conference consists of seven sessions: Keynote Speeches, PV Industrial Policy Forum, CEOs Forum, Investment and Financing Forum, Silicon Material Forum, Thin-film Cells Forum, and PV Industrial Technology Forum. Meanwhile, we have invited some international industry associations to organize and chair some specialized sessions under different topics at the conference so as to make SNEC (2009) PV Power Expo an influential international PV power event held in Shanghai, China.
The exhibits cover the categories of Production Equipments, Solar Cells/Panels (PV Modules), Components, Solar Materials, Solar Products, PV Projects and System Integrators, etc.. It is estimated that the total exhibition space of 60,000 sqm shall be sufficient to accommodate over 700 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors.
SNEC (2009) PV Power Expo is designed to be a large-scale international PV show across the whole value chain. It will provide the exhibitors and professional visitors with an opportunity of face-to-face communication, and a platform of technical and commercial communication as well as international co-operation for the PV industry.
Concurrently, “Solar Energy ·World Expo 2010: Better City, Better Life” Solar Products Contest will be launched by Organizing Committee of SNEC (2009) PV Power Expo. It is designed to be a solar world carnival that perfectly demonstrates the “Green Expo: Better City, Better Life” concept of World Expo 2010 Shanghai China.
